Orthodontists are dental specialists who have completed the highest specialist education in the field of Orthodontics. They have first completed a general dental degree at university and have worked in general practice for at least two years before applying for highly competitive and limited positions in the post graduate doctorate program.
Orthodontic Hygienists are university trained clinicians whose roles are to facilitate the Orthodontists in the clinical aspects of treatment. As clinicians, our Hygienists take an immense amount of pride in their roles, focusing on the clinical care of patients. Their responsibilities include preparing patients for the Orthodontists/preparing you for your appointment or adjustment, taking impressions, fitting and removal of appliances and molar bands as well as patient education. Our Hygienists are also trained to be able to address any orthodontic emergency that may arise during treatment.
Our Clinical Assistants are integral in the efficient functioning/smooth running of our clinic. They ensure that you and your family are well cared for and comfortable during your appointments. Their duties include assisting the clinicians, sterilisation of orthodontic instruments, taking visual records of patients, equipment maintenance, patient education and overseeing infection control protocols.
The Scheduling Coordinator’s role is centred on the administrative aspects of our patient’s treatments. They meet and greet new patients, attend to your administrative queries as well as schedule your treatment appointments.
The Financial Coordinator’s role focuses mainly on the financial aspects of your treatment. There is never a question too minor for our Financial Coordinator as she advises you on payment options, health insurance queries and Denticare, our financial partner. As part of the Financial Coordinator’s many responsibilities, you will also often see her at the front desk receiving patients and scheduling appointments.
Our Treatment Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that our patients are well looked after. You will meet your Treatment Coordinator at your very first consultation appointment where she will answer any treatment or financial questions. Your Treatment Coordinator will become your personal treatment liaison at any point during your treatment.
